In this vital role, you will be responsible for building the structural framework of residential homes, ensuring precision, safety, and quality at every stage. This position offers the opportunity to work on exciting projects from start to finish, utilizing your expertise in framing and related trades. Responsibilities
- Measure and interpret construction plans, blueprints, and schematics to accurately frame new homes according to specifications
- Erect metal building frameworks, wood framing, and metal stud framing with precision and safety in mind
- Install concrete forms and rebar for foundations and structural elements, ensuring proper alignment and reinforcement
- Operate hand tools, power tools, heavy equipment, and welding equipment safely and effectively during framing activities
- Perform masonry tasks such as laying bricks or blocks when required for structural or aesthetic purposes
- Conduct roofing, siding, stucco, and trim carpentry work to complete exterior finishes of new homes
- Collaborate with construction management teams to interpret technical drawings and ensure adherence to building codes and safety standards
Skills
- Extensive experience in construction site activities including framing, roofing, siding, and restoration projects
- Proficiency in blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and dimensional measurements for accurate construction
- Skilled in metal building erection, concrete forming, rebar installation, and drywall finishing (plastering)
- Strong knowledge of masonry techniques, woodworking, trim carpentry, and metal stud framing
- Ability to operate heavy equipment safely along with hand tools and power tools essential for framing tasks
- Experience with interpreting technical drawings and schematics related to residential construction plans
- Excellent understanding of construction management principles with a focus on safety protocols and quality assurance
