American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Behavioral Health (Psychiatric) night shift position at an inpatient adult psychiatric facility in Hickory, NC, requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and CPI or Handle with Care (HWC) certification.

Inpatient adult behavioral health unit within an 81-bed psychiatric hospital on a separate campus
-
Five behavioral health units with varying sizes (10–23 beds per unit); staffing ratios range from 1–2 RNs and 2–4 CNAs depending on unit census

Adult patient population with diagnoses including schizophrenia, dementia, manic bipolar disorder, psychosis, dual diagnosis, medical detox, depression, and anxiety disorders

Charting is performed using Cerner EMR

Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
-
Every other weekend required
-
No on-call requirements
-
13-week contract
-
Active NC or compact RN license required
-
AHA BLS certification required
-
CPI or Handle with Care (HWC) certification required for consideration

AHA-issued certifications required

Minimum 2 years of RN experience required

Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration

Must reside 60 or more miles from the facility to qualify for travel pay rates

Cannot have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months

Cannot be employed full-time elsewhere during the assignment

Provide inpatient psychiatric nursing care to adult patients across a range of behavioral health diagnoses

Handle with Care (HWC) training will be provided if the candidate does not already hold the certification

Any color scrubs are acceptable

Candidates must reside at least 60 miles from the facility to be eligible for the travel pay rate
