Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Research Technician.
The Research Technician performs technical laboratory duties and/or basic data analysis in support of a research project. The laboratory analyses at this level may involve sophisticated techniques that are generally learned on the job. This position may also analyze data and produce graphs and charts for publication. Nature of Work This position works on a grant or research project and performs specific analytical laboratory procedures, usually limited in number and repetitive. The position performs data recording and preliminary analysis and may prepare graphs and charts for publication. Work at this level is non-exempt and represents a basic level of scientific contribution involving some theoretical knowledge. This work is distinguished from Biological Scientist since standardized procedures and protocols are used. Research Technicians perform preliminary analysis of data and may produce graphs and charts for publication, rather than final analysis of data and drafting portions of publications.
Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Life Sciences or a related field with one year of experience. Advanced (beyond basic lab training will be accepted in lieu of experience as assessed by the hiring Principal Investigator). Effective oral and written communication skills required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in bacteriology and/or molecular biology-basic cloning is preferred.
Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $55,649.99 – $55,650.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
