We are hiring a full-time (40 hours weekly), non-exempt Financial Coordinator with the Clerk of Court's Office located at Moss Justice Center. The purpose of this position is to perform a wide range of skilled financial and computer duties as well as processing and recording financial and legal documents related to the operation of the Clerk of Court’s Office. Responsible for the processing payments and balancing large sums of money on a daily basis.
Projected Salary Range/Pay Grade 110: $19.62 - $23.54 per hour. Salary is determined based on qualifications.

Duties and Responsibilities:
-
Manages the daily accounting activities for assigned division of the Clerk of Court.
-
Receives fees due related to filings, recordings, bondsmen licenses, estreatments, fines, debt collections, child support, alimony and restitution, public defender applications, real estate transfers, taxes, and restitution payments; post to appropriate accounts; reconciles accounts and prepares bank deposits.

Prepares financial statements and reports for the Clerk of Court, external auditors, court administration and government agencies.

Prepares daily reports and completes month-end reconciliation.

Assists county officials, employees, other municipalities, court personnel, judges, attorneys, bank/financial institutions and government agencies with information regarding bond, arrest warrants attorney appointments, public defender applications, bench warrants, commitments, civil judgments, fine/restitution balances and general information.

Reviews legal documents to ensure they comply with state recording law prior to recording; Record and Index real estate documents by inputting information into a specialized recording software. Returns original documents to attorneys, financial institutions or individuals.

Analyzes real estate documents and court filings to ensure compliancy with all state, county and federal laws, regulations and procedural requirements.

Processes both written and verbal requests for criminal record checks, expungement orders and copies of court documents; receive fees for criminal record checks, applications, expungement orders, and copies; provides correct change and write receipts.

Clocks, validates, and certifies legal documents for filing at the request of the Defense Attorney or Solicitor's office.

Assists probation personnel with daily fine updates through printed fine/restitution payment report and other information as needed.

Performs customer service functions by providing information, assistance and explanations regarding Clerk of Court policy and procedures. Responds to inquiries, complaints and researches issues to assist in problem resolution regarding financial inquiries from the public, attorneys, surveyors, abstractors, other county offices and court personnel.

Performs related work as assigned.
Minimum Education and Experience:
-
Associate’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related Discipline.
-
Four (4) years of experience in financial accounting or related field or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Certifications and Licenses:
-
Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license with an acceptable driving history.
-
Notary Public Commission.
-
Training in Customer Service, work place violence, and General Sessions Court policies and procedures preferred.

Specialized training in paralegal studies, office administration, accounting and or closely related field preferred.
Applicants with equivalent experience and/or education may be considered.
Physical Demands: Physical demands refer to the requirements for physical exertion and coordination of limb and body movement.

Performs sedentary work that involves walking or standing some of the time and involves exerting up to 10 pounds of force on a regular and recurring basis or sustained keyboard operations.
