Role Summary
We are a growing environmental drilling company seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our collaborative and supportive accounting team. Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience (Construction industry experience preferred)
- Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and financial reporting
- Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and month-end close
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and investigative skills
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Knowledge of internal controls and accounting compliance
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate others and lead by example
- Multi-state construction accounting experience is a plus
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the general ledger and oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, revenue, assets, reconciliations, and financial analysis
- Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports
- Lead the month-end and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
- Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining accounting policies and procedures
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, system efficiencies, and business practices
- Participate in strategic financial planning and special projects
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting standards, and applicable regulatory requirements
- Coordinate with external auditors to support successful audits and regulatory compliance
- Analyze financial data and provide recommendations to support sound business decisions
