Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Concrete Laborer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction and a passion for working with concrete and related materials. This role involves various tasks on construction sites, including the preparation, pouring, and finishing of concrete. A successful Concrete Laborer will demonstrate mechanical knowledge, the ability to operate heavy equipment, and a commitment to safety.
Duties
- Prepare and clean work areas for concrete pouring
- Mix concrete using a concrete mixer and ensure proper consistency
- Install rebar and other reinforcement materials as needed
- Form concrete structures using appropriate forming techniques
- Finish concrete surfaces to achieve desired textures and appearances
- Operate hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
- Read blueprints and schematics to understand project specifications
- Assist in heavy lifting and moving of materials on-site
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of projects
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
Experience
Candidates should possess the following skills and experience:
- Strong mechanical knowledge relevant to construction tasks
- Familiarity with construction estimating techniques
- Experience in rebar installation, hardscape, and concrete forming
- Proficiency in concrete finishing methods
- Ability to operate various hand tools and power tools
- Previous construction site experience is essential
- Knowledge of plastering, renovation, carpentry, roofing, caulking, trim carpentry, stucco, masonry, welding, flooring installation, tile laying, concrete pumping, and heavy equipment operation is highly desirable
- Experience reading blueprints and schematics for accurate project execution
