Preston Taylor Ministries (PTM) is a Christian-Centered non-profit organization that exists to provide safe and fun neighborhood programming for kids to learn and grow. Programs include after school tutoring, summer field trips, seasonal sports, one-on-one mentoring, Bible studies, camps, and more. These programs for kids are supported by PTM staff, community and parent volunteers, and generous donors that support the work of PTM. PTM empowers our kids to discover and live their God-inspired dreams, develop a love for learning, and build joy-filled friendships that glorify Christ Jesus.
The Elementary Reading Teacher will primarily teach phonics in a structured program to small groups of 4-6 students. Elementary Reading Teacher will see 3-4 groups each day. Fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension will be taught to the more advanced readers. All teachers will undergo mandatory training prior to facilitating the scripted curriculum, which uses a PowerPoint slideshow and physical reading materials. The Elementary Reading Teacher will seek to incorporate PTM’s Christ-centered mission to experience “joy-filled friendships” and to pursue their “God-inspired dreams” into their teaching. Reading Teachers may assist with parts of daily programming and work in collaboration with the site's program team. All employees at PTM should represent the organization well to children and their families, volunteers, supporters, and the community.
