Job Summary
Join our awesome grassroots community as a FitSQWRL Trainer, where you will motivate and teach outdoor fitness classes. This paid position offers the opportunity to lead energetic group classes from late June/ July through October (with more opportunities to cover) in a beautiful outdoor setting and be part of an amazing community (we're very social outside of class). Your expertise will help the participants (the "SQWRL"s) improve their strength, endurance, balance, flexibility, and overall well-being while enjoying the benefits of community and the outdoors. Introductory training will be provided.
Responsibilities
- Lead outdoor fitness classes that incorporate diverse disciplines such as cardio, strength training (resistance bands), yoga/ stretching, boot camp, functional fitness. Classes are Mondays and Wednesdays at 7:30a - with potential flexibility for an altered summer schedule.
- Design personalized fitness programs tailored to individual needs, fitness levels, and goals while ensuring safety and proper technique.
- Demonstrate correct body mechanics, physiology principles, and anatomy knowledge to maximize effectiveness and prevent injuries.
- Incorporate specialized skills such as boot camp/ interval training, functional fitness, yoga or pilates (or any other modalities) into outdoor sessions to diversify offerings and challenge clients using resistance bands, plyometrics, and bodyweight.
- Be part of a LOVELY community who enjoys being social (dinners, concerts, bike rides, plays, cocktail/ potluck parties, etc).
Skills
- EXPERIENCED group fitness instructor - min 2 years experience teaching group fitness with strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and body mechanics to guide safe and effective exercise routines.
- Proficiency in program design that combines various disciplines like (but not limited to) boot camp/ interval training, functional fitness, yoga, pilates, sports training for comprehensive workouts.
- Excellent teaching skills with the ability to communicate clearly and energetically in an outdoor setting.
- Ability to adapt exercises for different fitness levels (the SQWRLS range from ages 16 to 70s) while maintaining positive energy and enthusiasm.
Pay: $45.00 - $100.00 per hour
