We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide care for a teenage youth in a crisis respite program. This role requires strong clinical awareness and advanced de-escalation abilities.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working in direct support, behavioral health, or a related field
- Demonstrated experience working with youth in crisis or high-acuity environments
- Strong background in de-escalation techniques and crisis intervention
- Solid understanding of mental health conditions and trauma-informed care
- Ability to remain calm, patient, and effective in high-stress situations
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct supervision and support to a teenage youth in crisis respite care
- Implement and follow individualized support and safety plans
- Use proactive and reactive de-escalation strategies to ensure safety
- Monitor behavior and emotional state, responding appropriately to changes
- Collaborate with the care team and document interactions accurately
- Maintain a structured, supportive, and therapeutic environment
Preferred Skills:
- CPI, PMT, or other crisis intervention certifications
- Experience with behavioral support plans and trauma-informed approaches
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
Pay: $21.00 - $25.00 per hour
