Job Overview
We are seeking a caring and dedicated Assistant Teacher for PreK to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will have experience working with young children and a passion for supporting early learning. This role involves assisting the Lead Teacher in creating a nurturing, safe, and engaging classroom environment that encourages learning through play using the Creative Curriculum.
Responsibilities
- Support the Lead Teacher in implementing daily and weekly lesson plans
- Assist in fostering a classroom environment that encourages child growth and development
- Help maintain a clean, safe, and healthy classroom atmosphere
- Support the development of strong parent and child relationships
- Assist with daily routines including meals, rest time, and transitions
- Participate in student observations, assessments, and classroom documentation as needed
- Attend scheduled professional development and staff training sessions
- Ensure compliance with DOH regulations
- Be reliable, professional, and able to work collaboratively as part of a teaching team
Qualifications
- HIgh School Diploma/GED
- Experience working with preschool-aged children in a classroom or childcare setting a plus
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and colleagues
- Ability to work under the direction of the Lead Teacher while also taking initiative when needed
- Patience, flexibility, and a nurturing personality
