Overview
To be up front about it, this is not easy money. It is hot, heavy, dirty, physical work. You’ll be carrying heavy materials, helping with roof tear-offs and reroofs, loading and unloading, cleaning up job sites, general construction-related work, and helping to keep the crew moving.
If you want air conditioning, easy days, or a job where nobody notices whether you show up on time, this is not it.
If you can work hard, show up early, stay off your phone, take direction, and keep moving when the day gets long, you would likely excel here and we want to talk.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the installation, repair, and maintenance of roofing systems including metal roofing, single-ply membrane roofing, and roofing repair projects.
- Use hand tools and power tools safely to cut, shape, and install roofing materials and other construction components.
- Perform heavy lifting tasks involving materials such as shingles, metal panels, framing lumber, masonry units, and concrete forms.
- Support siding installation, stucco application, caulking, trim carpentry, masonry work, and other exterior finishing tasks.
- Follow all construction safety regulations including the proper use of safety harnesses, ladder safety procedures, and adherence to workplace safety protocols.
- Maintain a clean worksite by organizing tools and materials while ensuring compliance with safety standards at all times.
- Collaborate with team members.
- Support plumbing or welding tasks when required for specialized roofing or building projects.
Experience
- Prior construction experience with a focus on roofing or exterior building work is helpful, but not required
- Familiarity with roofing systems such as metal roofing or single-ply membrane roofing enhances your ability to contribute effectively.
- Hands-on experience using hand tools, power tools, scaffolding, ladders safely and efficiently in outdoor environments.
- Knowledge of construction safety harnesses, ladder use protocols, and adherence to OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) standards is preferred.
- Experience working on construction sites involving framing (including metal stud framing), masonry work, siding installation or stucco application is advantageous.
- Skills in welding or fabrication can be beneficial for custom repairs or restoration projects.
- Demonstrated ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail on complex projects.
- Bilingual (spanish) would be helpful.
Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
