Job Summary
We're a Dermatopathology lab and seeking a Part time/Full time dedicated and detail-oriented Histology Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and processing tissue samples for microscopic examination, ensuring high-quality results that contribute to accurate diagnoses. This role requires a strong understanding of laboratory procedures, anatomy, and pathology, along with the ability to work effectively in a clinical or research laboratory environment.
Summary: The technician Prepares surgical specimens for gross and microscopic examination. Performs embedding and microtomy and special stains. Assists pathologists with special procedures. Must be able to multitask, handle a fast-paced workload, special stains manually.
Requirements
- Ability to perform routine histology assignments including but not limited to embedding, microtomy and staining.
- Must be meticulous in regard to patient identification, patient demographics, pathology reports, use of laboratory information system, and specimen handling/processing
- Ability to multitask and exercise professional judgment
- Good communication skills
Associates Degree or higher, preferably in biological science
Minimum 2 years' experience required
Pay range: $27.00 - $34.00 per hour
Certification as a Histology Technologist by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (HT-ASCP) or equivalent is preferred
