What You'll Be Doing
We are currently seeking a Patient Access Representative who will serve in Centralized Registration to provide high quality service to the Wake County Public Health Clinic clients. This position assists patients with onsite customer service functions, ensures all necessary documents are provided, activates patients in the EMR system, collects payments, and obtains demographic and financial information all working together to meet the goals of the work area. The Patient Access Representative serves as the public’s first point of contact for the Health Clinics. This is a rewarding career that will allow you to positively impact citizens lives every day!
Essential Responsibilities:
Knowledge of clinics within Public Health
Responds to inquiries from both internal and external customers
Gather intake or service requests information
Register customers for services, schedules appointments and service-calls and provides necessary information
Receive monies, enters customer information into databases and provides receipts if appropriate
Balance cash drawers
Insurance and income verification

The Basics (Required Education and Experience)
High school diploma or GED
One year of job-related experience
Equivalent education and experience are accepted

Beyond the Basics (Preferred Education and Experience)
Experience working in a medical and/or banking setting
Experience with Human Services Programs: OnBase, NCIR, Athena, SharePoint and Medical Records
Spanish language skills
