Washmore is looking for an experienced Controls Lead who can lead a car wash installation from the field and own the controls that bring it to life.
This is a hands-on leadership position. You'll lead the crew throughout the entire installation, work alongside them, and take responsibility for controls wiring, configuration, programming, testing, troubleshooting, and startup.
Car wash controls experience is preferred, but not required. Strong industrial automation, motor control, and commissioning experience can qualify.
What You'll Do
- Lead crews through complete car wash installations and remodels
- Plan daily work, check quality, and keep projects moving
- Complete controls wiring, device installation, terminations, configuration, and labeling
- Program and configure control components and software
- Test inputs, outputs, circuits, communications, and field devices
- Diagnose controls issues using a logical, linear troubleshooting process
- Commission systems and troubleshoot through startup
- Communicate project issues early and maintain internal reporting
- Coach technicians while working hands-on alongside the crew
What We're Looking For
You need real field controls experience—not just general electrical experience.
Car Wash experience is preferred, but not required.
You should be proficient with:
- Low-voltage and high-voltage systems
- AC and DC circuits
- Single-phase and three-phase systems
- Motor Control Cabinets, VFDs, and relays
- Inputs, outputs, and field devices
- Software programming and configuration
- Electrical schematics and control drawings
- Linear diagnostics and systematic troubleshooting
- Testing, commissioning, and startup
Beyond technical ability, we're looking for a Lead who plans ahead, communicates early, takes pride in clean and well-labeled work, coaches people professionally, and stays calm when something doesn't work as expected.
This is not an office-only controls position or a traditional electrician role. You'll lead an active installation crew and work alongside them throughout the project.
Pay & Travel
This is a salaried position paying $100,000–$120,000 based on demonstrated controls, installation, and leadership experience and proficiency.
- $40/day overnight per diem
- Company-paid lodging with your own bedroom
- 100% travel
- Most project blocks are approximately 12–14 days, with some projects requiring up to approximately 24 days away
- Construction schedules change, so time at home between projects is not guaranteed
How We Lead
Being technically strong isn't enough. Our Leads are responsible for the work and the people doing it.
We expect clear communication, professional coaching, attention to detail, and problems brought forward early—not after they've grown into bigger ones.
When it comes to controls, clean work matters. Labeling matters. Testing is required. When something doesn't work, we diagnose it logically instead of guessing.
If you can lead a crew, work alongside them, and systematically diagnose a controls system from power and inputs through outputs and operation, we'd like to talk.
