Water Street Restaurant Group is seeking an experienced, dependable Line Cook to join our culinary team on a full-time basis. We are looking for a skilled cook with experience working both the grill and sauté stations who can execute dishes consistently while maintaining the high standards expected in a professional steakhouse kitchen.
The ideal candidate is confident working in a fast-paced environment, takes pride in their craft, and understands the importance of timing, consistency, and teamwork during service.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and execute menu items according to established recipes, specifications, and presentation standards
- Work proficiently on both the grill and sauté stations
- Cook steaks, proteins, vegetables, sauces, and other menu items to proper temperatures and specifications
- Maintain consistent quality, portioning, presentation, and timing throughout service
- Complete daily prep and ensure stations are properly stocked before and throughout service
- Communicate effectively with the kitchen team to ensure smooth and timely service
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation throughout each shift
- Properly store, label, and rotate food according to food safety standards
- Assist other stations and kitchen team members as needed
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department standards
Qualifications
- Previous line cook experience required
- Proficiency on both grill and sauté stations required
- Steakhouse or upscale restaurant experience strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of cooking techniques, temperatures, and proper food handling
- Ability to work efficiently and calmly in a fast-paced kitchen
- Strong attention to detail and consistency
- Reliable, punctual, and dependable with a strong work ethic
- Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
