- 4/10s Schedule: M-F, 1:30 PM to 12:00AM
- Occasional Overtime Required. Overtime also available

Competitive Compensation
Starting at $29.55+/per hour DOE
$2.00/hr additional for CDL Holders or after CDL is obtained.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Candidates for employment must meet position requirements and successfully pass post offer employment examinations including:
- Background Check
- MVR Check (Clean driving record)
- Drug screen

RESPONSIBILITIES:
-
Union Diesel Mechanic to perform maintenance and repairs on our fleet of 125 garbage trucks.
-
Utilizes vehicle computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes to initiate or assign repairs.
-
Conducts safety checks on vehicles and equipment.
-
Completes required paperwork utilizing fleet maintenance software program associated with repairing vehicles, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times.
-
Reviews, completes, or assigns repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
-
Performs diagnostics and repairs on engine, aftertreatment, transmissions, hydraulic systems, electrical systems (12V and CAN)
-
Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards.

Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
-
Ability to effectively communicate needed repairs or tasks.

REQUIREMENTS:
-
Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record (Required)

3+ year experience in heavy truck equipment maintenance and repair
-
Provide personal tools.
-
Class B CDL OR the ability to obtain one within 90 days of employment.

Proficiency in vehicle and equipment diagnosis and repair.
-
Ability to read and comprehend service and technical information in English.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:
-
Extensive physical activity. Requires strenuous physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects over 50 pounds.

Back, leg, arm and shoulder strength required to safely climb in, on and around vehicles to inspect and repair.
-
Ability to work in awkward, tight, or restricted spaces for extended periods of time; Requires the ability to sit, bend, stoop, crouch, kneel, crawl, and be able to get up and down from a supine position.

Work environment involves some exposure to physical risks such as moving mechanical parts which require following basic safety precautions.

The employee is exposed to outside weather, including frequent wet and/or humid conditions, as well as exposure to fumes and vibration. Noise level is usually moderate.
