Modern X Villas is building a small, highly capable field team for the construction of modern luxury residences in Culebra.
We are seeking experienced, dependable construction team members with practical residential building skills. This is not an entry-level cleanup position. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience across several phases of construction and is comfortable working around concrete, structural steel, framing systems, heavy equipment, lifting operations, and active residential jobsites.
The right person takes pride in their work, follows direction, protects materials and finished surfaces, and wants the stability and advancement opportunity of a long-term position.
Primary Responsibilities
- Support residential construction from site preparation through final completion
- Assist with concrete forming, reinforcing steel, placement, finishing, and foundation work
- Handle, stage, and install rebar, structural steel, light-gauge steel framing, and related materials
- Assist with wall framing, roof framing, blocking, sheathing, fastening, and structural connections
- Support crane picks, equipment operations, material lifts, signaling, rigging, and load preparation under qualified supervision
- Operate or assist with excavators, skid steers, telehandlers, compactors, lifts, and other construction equipment
- Assist with pools, retaining conditions, waterproofing, exterior assemblies, and drainage work
- Read basic plans, take measurements, perform layout, and complete assigned work accurately
- Prepare work areas and support subcontractors and specialty trades
- Maintain organized tools, protected materials, clean jobsites, and safe access routes
- Identify damaged materials, unsafe conditions, missing items, and jobsite concerns promptly
- Move between multiple residential projects and construction phases as needed
Experience We Value
Candidates should have experience in several of the following areas:
- High-end or custom residential construction
- Concrete foundations, slabs, walls, or pools
- Rebar installation and structural steel handling
- Light-gauge steel or conventional framing
- Structural connections, fastening, and sheathing
- Heavy-equipment operation
- Crane support, signaling, lifting, or basic rigging
- Carpentry and general residential construction
- Waterproofing and exterior building assemblies
- Site preparation, drainage, grading, or material logistics
- Finish protection and punch-list work
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on residential construction experience preferred
- Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, ladders, lifts, and jobsite equipment
- Able to measure, cut, fasten, lift, stage, and protect construction materials
- Able to perform physical work outdoors in heat, humidity, rain, and changing site conditions
- Able to lift and carry approximately 50 pounds safely, with assistance when required
- Dependable attendance and reliable transportation
- Willing to follow established safety, quality, and documentation procedures
- Valid driver’s license preferred
- OSHA 10 preferred
- Equipment certifications, rigging experience, First Aid, or CPR are considered an advantage
All crane, rigging, equipment, and specialized work must be performed within the candidate’s training and under the direction of appropriately qualified personnel.

Work Location
This position is based full-time on active construction sites in Culebra, Puerto Rico.
Local candidates are strongly encouraged to apply. Qualified candidates from Puerto Rico’s main island may also be considered where weekday housing arrangements are appropriate.

Pay: $16.00 - $22.00 per hour
