We are looking for a reliable, hardworking individual to join our family farm operation. Our farm primarily grows corn with some soybeans and requires someone who is comfortable with a variety of fieldwork and shop tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operating tractors, planters, combines, and other farm equipment during planting, spraying, fertilizing, and harvest
- Driving semi-trucks and grain trailers for hauling grain and inputs
- Applying fertilizers and herbicides
- Performing general crop care and fieldwork throughout the growing season including but not limited to drain tile installation and maintenance
- Maintaining and repairing farm equipment in the shop (basic mechanical work, servicing, welding, etc.)
- Keeping equipment, buildings, and grounds clean and organized
- Assisting with other general farm duties as assigned
Work Schedule:
- Base hours: 48 hours per week
- Based on 50 weeks per year with 2 week paid vacation
- Additional hours required during peak seasons, including spring planting, summer crop care, and fall harvest
- Willingness to work long days and occasional weekends during busy seasons is essential
Requirements:
- Valid driver's license (CDL preferred or willingness to obtain one)
- Experience operating farm machinery is strongly preferred
- Basic mechanical skills and comfort working on equipment
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Reliable, safety-cautious, and able to work independently or as part of a small team
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Willingness to take direction
