Responsibilities
- Perform thorough cleaning of guest rooms, bathrooms, hallways, and public areas using appropriate cleaning equipment and chemical agents
- Handle chemical agents safely by following safety data sheets (SDS) and proper handling procedures to ensure a secure environment for yourself and colleagues
- Conduct floor care activities including vacuuming, mopping, and polishing to maintain immaculate surfaces across all hotel areas
- Manage heavy lifting tasks involved in moving furniture, linens, and cleaning supplies efficiently and safely
- Ensure sanitation standards are met by disinfecting high-touch surfaces and adhering to hotel emergency procedures when necessary
- Maintain cleanliness of all assigned areas while respecting guest privacy and comfort
- Use janitorial experience to troubleshoot cleaning challenges promptly, ensuring consistent quality in service delivery
Skills
- Proven experience in hotel housekeeping or custodial roles with knowledge of hotel housekeeping management practices
- Strong skills in floor cleaning, vacuuming, and general cleaning techniques with an eye for detail
- Ability to handle cleaning equipment efficiently and safely while managing chemical handling responsibilities
- Excellent customer service skills to interact politely with guests and team members alike
- Familiarity with sanitation standards, safety data sheets (SDS), and hotel emergency procedures to promote a safe working environment
- Physical stamina for manual handling tasks including heavy lifting and prolonged standing or walking
- Knowledge of hospitality industry standards combined with janitorial or custodial experience ensures top-quality service delivery
