Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing ingredients according to recipes and menu specifications, including slicing, dicing, and portioning food items.
- Follow strict food safety and sanitation standards to maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Operate kitchen equipment such as slicers, mixers, ovens, and other appliances safely and efficiently.
- Support the culinary team in meal assembly, ensuring timely preparation of dishes for service.
- Maintain proper food handling procedures to prevent contamination and ensure quality control.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate food preparation tasks and communicate effectively about daily needs.
- Assist with cleaning duties, including washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and disposing of waste appropriately.
Skills
- Proven experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is highly desirable.
- Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and operating kitchen equipment.
- Knowledge of safety standards in food production and food handling practices.
- Excellent knife skills with proficiency in slicing techniques and ingredient prep.
- Familiarity with menu planning, recipe adherence, and meal preparation processes.
- Ability to communicate effectively with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations.
- Experience working in restaurant or food service environments is advantageous.
- Understanding of food safety management systems and sanitation protocols within the food industry.
