RGV Foot & Ankle Institute is seeking a motivated, compassionate, and energetic Medical Assistant to join our growing Foot & Ankle specialty practice. We are looking for someone who enjoys helping patients, thrives in a team-oriented environment, and wants to grow professionally alongside an expanding practice.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous Medical Assistant experience preferred
- Experience in podiatry, orthopedics, wound care, surgery, or related specialties is a plus
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Responsibilities
- Room patients and obtain medical history
- Take and document vital signs
- Assist the physician during examinations and procedures
- Prepare patients for injections and minor surgical procedures
- Assist with wound care, diabetic foot care, dressing changes and nail procedures
- Take digital X-rays and maintain imaging records
- Verify insurance eligibility and benefits
- Obtain prior authorizations and approvals when necessary
- Assist with custom orthotics, braces, and DME dispensing
- Assist with post-operative patient care and education
- Sterilize instruments and maintain treatment rooms
- Manage inventory and clinical supplies
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional clinical environment
Professional Development
Candidates must be willing to obtain certification in Podiatric Radiology. Ongoing training opportunities will be provided as we continue to expand our services in sports medicine, regenerative medicine, wound care, diabetic limb preservation, minimally invasive surgery, and reconstructive foot and ankle surgery.
