We are currently seeking a Junior Communication Engineer (EIT). The Junior Communications Engineer will support the planning, design, coordination, and implementation of communications and low-voltage systems for large-scale infrastructure and transportation projects. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with fire alarm systems, network systems, and low-voltage communications, and is comfortable working in a multidisciplinary construction and engineering environment.
This role will collaborate closely with design teams, construction managers, contractors, and public agency stakeholders to ensure systems are compliant, constructible, and successfully delivered.

Design, review, and coordinate fire alarm systems in accordance with applicable codes, standards, and authority having jurisdiction (AHJ) requirements
- Develop and review communications and low-voltage system designs, including structured cabling, fiber optics, CCTV, access control, PA/VMS, and network infrastructure
- Support infrastructure and transportation projects such as transit facilities, tunnels, stations, roadways, bridges, and related facilities
- Review contractor submittals, shop drawings, RFIs, and technical proposals
- Provide construction-phase support including site inspections, testing and commissioning support, and system acceptance
- Coordinate system interfaces with IT, electrical, and other building systems
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and safety requirements
- Participate in meetings with clients, agencies, designers, and contractors
- Assist with cost estimates, schedules, and risk assessments related to communications systems

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Communications Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 2+ years of experience in communications or low-voltage systems within construction, engineering, or infrastructure projects
- Engineer in Training (EIT) certification required
- Working knowledge of relevant codes and standards (e.g., NFPA, NEC, local AHJ requirements)
- Experience supporting construction management or design-build projects
- Strong technical writing and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience on transportation or infrastructure projects (transit, rail, roadway, aviation, or utilities)
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
- NICET certification (Fire Alarm or related disciplines)
- Familiarity with public agency projects and compliance requirements
- Experience with system integration and testing/commissioning processes

The base salary (or hourly rate) range for this role is indicated in the posting. This range reflects the company’s good faith estimate of the compensation for this position at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, skills, qualifications, internal equity, and geographic location.
