Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join the finance team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, performing account reconciliations, and supporting various accounting functions across multiple platforms. Your expertise will help ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls, and regulatory standards. Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze journal entries, general ledger reconciliations, and account analyses to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable processes using software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or PeopleSoft.
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations regularly to verify account balances align with supporting documentation.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures, including financial statement preparation in compliance with GAAP.
- Support payroll management tasks utilizing systems like ADP, Paychex, Kronos, or UltiPro while ensuring proper tax withholding and reporting.
- Conduct data entry for financial transactions with precision using 10-key typing skills and double-entry bookkeeping principles.
- Collaborate on internal audits, SOX compliance activities, and internal control testing to uphold organizational standards.
- Support governmental accounting functions and non-profit accounting activities as needed.
- Utilize various financial software tools for account reconciliation, account analysis, and reporting purposes.
- Contribute to budgeting processes by analyzing expenses and providing insights for financial planning.
Experience
- Proven experience in corporate accounting or public accounting environments with a focus on financial services or non-profit organizations.
- Demonstrated proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, PeopleSoft, Ceridian, or UltiPro.
- Strong understanding of GAAP principles, SOX compliance requirements, and governmental accounting standards.
- Hands-on experience with payroll management systems like ADP or Paychex along with payroll tax reporting.
- Familiarity with financial concepts including debits & credits, journal entries, account reconciliation, and balance sheet management.
- Ability to perform detailed data entry accurately while managing multiple tasks efficiently.
- Knowledge of technical accounting issues related to revenue recognition, lease accounting, or complex financial transactions is a plus.

- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
- CPA or Actively pursuing CPA.
