CAD Engineer
Full-Time | Manufacturing | Reports to: Engineering Manager
Purpose
Provide drafting and programming support to manufacturing and administrative staff, ensuring accurate and timely documentation while promoting a positive, professional image to both internal and external customers.
Key Responsibilities
· Create and proof CAD drawings, obtain customer approval, and issue prints 2 weeks prior to ship date.
· Draw, proof, and issue engineering masters 2 weeks prior to ship date.
· Write CNC programs for laser/FINN within 2 hours of receiving approved drawings.
· Assign prints to travelers throughout the day; ensure all orders are processed by 4:00 PM.
· Generate and issue man-hours reports for ISC and Flexco by 5:00 PM daily.
· Revise prints as needed — pull from shop/engineering files, correct visual information, reprint work orders, send approval prints, and update CNC programs accordingly.
· Troubleshoot issues with prints, FINN programs, laser programs, engineering masters, and work orders.
· Maintain drawing and program accuracy; meet all deadlines with 100% quality expectations.
· Maintain and update documentation for tooling and setup procedures.
· Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to drafting and manufacturing workflows.
· Comply with all company rules, procedures, and safety practices.
Education & Experience
· 2-year certificate from a college or technical school, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
· 3-5 years of related work experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
· Background in steel and/or aluminum fabrication preferred.
Technical Skills
· SolidWorks – CAD drafting and design
· Lantek – Laser programming
· NC Express – Turret/CNC programming
· ERP Systems – General ERP experience required; Visual ERP knowledge a plus
· Blueprint Reading – Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
· Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, email, and general database/record-keeping tools
· Revision Control & Documentation – Support tooling and setup procedures
· Applied Mathematics – Knowledge of math as it applies to fabrication and programming tasks

Work Schedule
Monday through Friday. Multiple shift options are available based on production needs:
· 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
· 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM
· 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
