Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Superintendent to join our team on a contract basis. This pivotal role involves leading complex construction projects, overseeing project execution, and ensuring all activities align with industry standards and safety regulations. Duties
- Lead and manage all phases of construction projects, from planning through completion, ensuring timely delivery within scope and budget.
- Develop, maintain, and update detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 or similar construction scheduling software to optimize workflow and resource allocation.
- Review and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and construction plans to ensure accuracy and compliance with project specifications.
- Coordinate with stakeholders, including clients, contractors, subcontractors, and internal teams, to facilitate seamless communication and project alignment.
- Supervise site activities by managing crews, overseeing safety protocols in accordance with OSHA and federal construction safety regulations, and conducting regular site inspections.
- Monitor project budgets, perform cost estimations using HeavyBid or comparable tools, and implement cost control measures to stay within financial targets.
- Review construction contracts, manage change orders, and ensure contractual obligations are met throughout the project lifecycle.
- Oversee quality control processes by inspecting work for adherence to specifications, safety standards, and building codes.
- Utilize construction management software such as ProCore or Bluebeam for documentation, progress tracking, and reporting purposes.
- Conduct regular meetings to coordinate construction schedule updates, address issues promptly, and manage team performance effectively.
Requirements
- Proven experience in heavy civil or commercial construction management with a strong background in managing large-scale projects on a contract basis.
- Extensive knowledge of construction scheduling tools including Primavera P6 and Primavera; proficiency in managing complex project timelines is essential.
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and construction plans accurately.
- Strong supervisory skills with experience managing diverse teams on active construction sites; excellent crew management capabilities are required.
- Familiarity with OSHA standards as well as federal and local construction safety regulations; experience implementing safety protocols on-site is mandatory.
- Proficiency in construction management software such as ProCore, Bluebeam, HeavyBid; experience with OSHAsafety management systems is preferred.
- Ability to interpret technical documents related to contracts, specifications, and technical drawings confidently.
- Skilled in project scheduling techniques including critical path method (CPM) scheduling; adept at coordinating multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent managerial communication skills for effective collaboration with clients, teams, vendors, and regulatory agencies.
- Hands-on construction site experience combined with supervisory responsibilities; demonstrated success supervising crews in demanding environments.
- Knowledge of budgeting processes related to large-scale projects; ability to manage costs effectively while maintaining quality standards.
