Mari, a Michelin starred Korean hand roll restaurant in Hell's Kitchen by chef Sungchul Shim, is seeking enthusiastic and professional candidates for the Bartender position to join our team, located in the heart of Hell's Kitchen.
This is an excellent opportunity for hospitality professionals looking to advance their career. The ideal candidate will have a keen understanding of food, wine, beverage and service standards as well as a professional demeanor and most importantly, the desire to learn and potential for growth within the company.
A Michelin or equivalent experience is very much appreciated, but not required.
Duties/Responsibilities:

Completes all assigned side work related to set up and breakdown of the bar. Ensures the bar is well-stocked with glasses, coasters, napkins, straws, ice, liquor, wine, and beer.

Greets all customers who visit the bar or enter the restaurant’s dining area.

Maintains responsible service of alcohol to all customers including checking identification for proof of age.

Makes recommendations and answers all menu inquiries.

Takes orders from customers and ensures 100% accuracy when entering orders into the system.

Prepares cocktails and beverages, and pours wines for all customers at the bar and in the restaurant. Runs drinks from the bar to the guest.

Extensive knowledge and execution of classic and house beverages.
Qualifications:
-
2+ year of hospitality experience in a chef driven establishment is preferred but not at must.

Knowledge of food and beverage safety procedures
- Knowledge of Korean cuisine is a plus

Knowledge of Wine varieties and sales is a plus

A positive attitude and ability to work well under pressure

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and accomplish tasks in a timely manner

Fluent in English
