Liquid Church is hiring a Full Time AVL Systems Engineer (Systems + Weekend Support Lead).

This role is for a senior, hands-on AVL Systems Engineer who owns the health, performance, and long-term reliability of our AVL systems. You’ll strengthen infrastructure, troubleshoot issues quickly and effectively, and lead weekend system support to ensure every space operates with excellence and consistency.
Reporting to the Technology Director and partnering closely with the Worship Experience Pastor, this role bridges systems strategy and live execution — translating vision into dependable, repeatable results.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Build + Deploy Systems
- Design, configure, and deploy AVL infrastructure across campuses, including audio, video, lighting, networking, and playback
- Build systems for services, events, rollouts, and special projects
- Standardize AVL systems to improve consistency, scalability, and ease of support
- Develop and maintain clear documentation: signal flow diagrams, rack layouts, labeling, and SOPs
- Collaborate with worship, creative, and technical teams to build future-ready environments
Keep Systems Stable
- Maintain and support existing AVL systems across campuses
- Repair and replace components to ensure long-term reliability
- Own preventative maintenance routines to reduce weekend failures
- Proactively improve system health through upgrades, cleanup, and standardization
Troubleshoot Like a Pro
- Respond to AVL helpdesk tickets and campus support needs
- Diagnose and resolve routing, patching, networking, hardware, and software issues
- Stabilize systems during services and events with calm, methodical problem-solving
- Serve as an escalation point for service-critical AVL issues
Train + Build Volunteer Teams
- Build strong relationships with campus teams to reinforce shared standards
- Train volunteer AVL teams to confidently operate audio, video, lighting, and playback systems
- Create repeatable training processes for setup, shutdown, and troubleshooting
- Develop volunteer leaders and reinforce ownership, excellence, and consistency
- Support teams through coaching, documentation, and hands-on guidance
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Technical Skills
- Strong working knowledge of AVL signal flow, routing, and troubleshooting
- Experience installing, maintaining, and supporting AVL systems in live environments
- Proven ability to troubleshoot effectively in live services and events
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Network-based protocols, including Dante, AES50, MIDI, Art-Net, and sACN
- Playback and media systems, including ProPresenter, Resolume, and Playback Pro
- Audio consoles and platforms, including Yamaha, Midas, DiGiCo, and Allen & Heath
- Professional video ecosystems, including Ross, Blackmagic, Panasonic, and Sony
- Lighting system design and installation, including fixture selection, control protocols, and Road Hog 4 console programming
- LED wall systems and processors, including Novastar
- Design and support of live streaming systems in both permanent and portable environments
- Experience in training and leading volunteer AVL teams
- Ability to work within defined budgets and manage vendor relationships
- Collaboration with creative teams to bring concepts from design to physical reality

Physical + Schedule Expectations
- Weekend availability for Sunday services, events, and rollouts
- Ability to lift equipment, climb ladders, work in racks, and perform installs
- Travel between campuses as needed
