The Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Genetics is seeking a Communications and Events Professional to help shape how our research, faculty achievements, and academic initiatives are shared with internal and external audiences. This role offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of science, storytelling, and community engagement within a dynamic academic medical environment. The successful candidate will elevate the department’s digital presence, strengthen faculty and trainee engagement, and coordinate events that bring together leading researchers, students, and collaborators.
Day-to-day, this position will manage website and social media content, develop newsletters and feature stories highlighting groundbreaking research, and lead planning and execution of seminars, symposiums, faculty meetings, and community events. Key Responsibilities:
Develop and manage website content, social media platforms, and departmental newsletters to enhance visibility and engagement.
Plan and execute academic and community events, including seminars, symposiums, recruitment events, and faculty meetings.
Create compelling written and visual content that highlights research achievements, faculty accomplishments, and departmental initiatives.
Track and analyze digital engagement metrics and recommend data-driven improvements.
Coordinate logistics, budgets, vendor relationships, and compliance requirements for on- and off-campus events.
Ensure alignment with University branding standards and serve as liaison with campus communications teams.
Maintain departmental communications calendars, distribution lists, and digital asset libraries.
