GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Wyoming Department of Corrections is seeking a Contract Religious Services Coordinator to provide services for the Wyoming Women's Center and the Wyoming Honor Conservation Camp. Candidates may office in either Lusk or Newcastle. The department is accredited by the American Correctional Association and is committed to working with offenders and communities to promote positive outcomes and reduce recidivism.
This position coordinates and facilitates religious programming and practices for inmates in compliance with state and federal laws and departmental policies and procedures. Responsibilities include ensuring inmates have appropriate access to religious services, coordinating with faith-based volunteers and community representatives, monitoring program compliance, and supporting a safe and respectful correctional environment.
This is an at-will contract position that may end at any time without notice.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function that may be performed at the job level.

Services include: planning, developing, coordinating, and supervising inmate religious activities;

Recruiting, training, and supervising religious volunteers;

Adhering to department policy in handling inmate religious requests regardless of inmate's religious belief;

Manage religious property for inmates;

Managing the ordering and disposition of individual inmate religious property;

Oversight of inmate religious diet requests and inmate adherence to approved religious diets;

Oversight of the chapel area;
-
Emergency family notifications;
-
Coordinating with the other WDOC institutions to maintain departmental continuity with regard to inmate religious practices.
PREFERENCES:
Preference will be given to individuals with a Bachelor's Degree in a human services field, theology, religious education, or closely related field; PLUS two years of professional-level experience.
Preference will also be given to those who have previously worked with female inmates and/or offenders.
KNOWLEDGE:
