EXAMPLE OF DUTIES This role supports the health needs of the offender population by delivering direct nursing care and assisting the broader medical team. You will use hands-on clinical skills to support daily health operations and maintain safe care practices.
As a Licensed Practical Nurse, you will perform the following duties:

Clinical Support: Provide routine nursing care and assist practitioners and registered nurses during daily procedures

Health Assessments: Complete screenings and take part in physical health evaluations for offenders

Medication Duties: Administer medications safely and follow established medical guidelines

Emergency Response: Assist during medical emergencies and support team efforts to stabilize conditions

Training Participation: Attend in service sessions and contribute to maintaining compliance with inspection standards

Health Education: Share basic health related information with staff and offenders when appropriate

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment, 40-hour work week.

The Department of Corrections is staffed by 3 work shifts that cover the facility 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

1st shift: 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM; 2nd shift: 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM; and 3rd shift: 10:00 PM to 6:30 AM

Shift will be 2nd shift: 2:00 pm-10:30 pm

Alternative work schedules may be available, depending on operational needs.

This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.

Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

Please Note: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $68,914.00 (before taxes).
