We are currently hiring a Health and Wellness Services Manager (known as Health and Wellness Manager.)
Chileda's mission is to improve the quality of life for individuals with cognitive and behavior challenges. Chileda's goal is to help students increase their appropriate social behaviors and develop independent living skills, through an enriched learning environment and individualized behavior programming. Chileda's population includes children and young adults with special needs including Autism, Traumatic Brain Injury, Attachment Challenges, related developmental delays, and intensive behavioral needs.
SUMMARY: The HealthWellness Manager provides leadership, oversight, and operational management for the HealthWellness Department to ensure the delivery of high-quality, student-centered healthcare services across all shifts and environments. This role is responsible for supervising HealthWellness personnel, coordinating student medical care, and ensuring compliance with state regulations, accreditation standards, and organizational policies and procedures. The HealthWellness Manager promotes a culture of collaboration, accountability, professionalism, and continuous improvement while advocating for the health, safety, and well-being of students. This position requires exceptional organizational skills, strong time management, attention to detail, and the ability to effectively coordinate multiple priorities, including medication management, medical appointments, urgent care needs, staff supervision, and interdisciplinary communication.
REQUIRED EDUCATIONEXPERIENCE:

Associate degree in nursing or a bachelor's degree in social or behavioral sciences that may include nursing, social work, psychology, or sociology.

LPN or RN Certification is preferred.

At least two years of supervisory experience.

Strong independent decision-making and excellent interpersonal skills.

Effective planning, implementation, evaluation, delegation, and collaboration skills within and across departments.

Critical thinking skills and ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities.

Preferred: At least one year of experience in a healthcare field.

Preferred: Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities and Autism Spectrum Disorder.
GENERAL HOURS OF DUTY: This is a full-time, exempt position, Monday-Friday, averaging a minimum of 40 hours per week. Flexible hours to effectively supervise the department on all shifts. Additional flexible hours or days may be required to supervise staff on all shifts and complete job duties. This position responds to calls outside of working hours

Oversee the daily operations of the HealthWellness Department, ensuring efficient workflow, effective communication, and continuity of care across all shifts and environments.

Supervise, coach, mentor, and develop HealthWellness staff through ongoing leadership, training, performance feedback, and annual evaluations.

Foster a collaborative, professional, and student-centered work environment that aligns with Chileda's mission, vision, and values.

Conduct regular department meetings to promote communication, collaboration, policy updates, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.

Maintain department staffing schedules, assignments, training coordination, vacation coverage, and overtime monitoring to ensure fiscally responsible staffing and adequate student support.

Monitor department inventory and medical supplies to ensure appropriate stock levels and timely ordering of necessary materials and medications

Identify opportunities for operational improvement and implement processes that enhance efficiency, organization, and quality of care

Student HealthMedical Coordination

Ensure the daily health, wellness, and medical needs of students are met through ongoing assessment, observation, intervention, and coordination of care.

Coordinate and monitor student medical appointments, specialty visits, urgent care visits, and follow-up care while ensuring timely communication with families, providers, and interdisciplinary teams.

Demonstrate strong organizational and time management skills by effectively prioritizing student healthcare needs, scheduling requirements, medical documentation, and department responsibilities.

Collaborate with HealthWellness Care Coordinators, providers, families, and interdisciplinary team members to advocate for student health needs and ensure continuity of care.

Participate in enrollment and pre-enrollment processes to ensure all required medical documentation, medications, physician orders, and immunization records are obtained prior to admission.

Ensure student immunizations are current, accurately documented, and reported in compliance with state requirements.

Respond effectively to medical emergencies and urgent student health concerns while ensuring appropriate follow-up care and documentation
Medication ManagementCompliance

Oversee medication administration practices to ensure compliance with state regulations, accreditation standards, physician orders, and organizational policies and procedures.

Maintain strict attention to detail in the implementation, monitoring, and documentation of medication management systems, including medication administration, storage, refills, destruction, and error prevention practices.

Ensure accurate and timely completion of all required documentation, including medication administration records, incident reports, body checks, daily logs, urgent care documentation, and medical charting.

Monitor student medical records to ensure documentation is complete, organized, accurate, and compliant with regulatory and accreditation requirements.

Administer scheduled and as-needed medications in accordance with physician orders and established protocols.

Ensure HealthWellness staff are properly trained and consistently follow established healthcare procedures, safety protocols, and documentation standards.

Implement, and monitor department policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure safe, effective, and compliant healthcare operations under the oversight of our supervising medical provider
CommunicationCollaboration

Maintain open and proactive communication with the Director of Clinical Services regarding department operations, staffing concerns, student health needs, compliance issues, and process improvement opportunities.

Collaborate with dietary staff, dieticians, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams to support student nutritional needs and specialized dietary plans.

Build positive working relationships with parents/guardians, healthcare providers, pharmacies, and community medical resources to support student health outcomes.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the job duties of this position. While performing the duties of this job, there is occasional physical interaction with students in fulfilling self-care, behavioral interventions, and educational and recreational programs. Position involves implementing all aspects of Non-violent Physical Crisis Intervention (CPI) including blocking, grab releases, physical transport, and physical restraint. Must be able to talk and hear to communicate with and exchange information with co-workers. Employees must be able to perform all essential functions without direct risk of harm to others or themselves.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work will be performed in an office setting in the HealthWellness department. Other job duties will be performed throughout the campus to include classrooms and residential homes. The HealthWellness Manager may transport students to and from healthcare appointments and attend those appointments.
