Glendora Hospital is searching for Admitting Representatives to join our team. We are looking for someone who admits patients in a pleasant, professional and timely manner. Advanced knowledge of Medicare, Medi-Cal, Private insurance regulations and as they apply to the admission process Knowledge of and understanding Medical Terminology and EMR (Electronic Medical Records) as they apply to the registration process is a must to be successful in this role. We would like the individual to assist in overseeing day to day functions within a small team.
Job Requirements
Job Specific Duties
Registers patients in the computer system with emphasis on accuracy of demographic and financial data
Enters new or validates demographic information from prior registrations and updates appropriately
Enters notes for pertinent comments relating to billing, collecting, or patient registration
Reviews physician orders for diagnosis, service type, and signature. Enters information correctly according to the type of registration
Verifies insurance eligibility and obtains authorization according to the rules of the insurance company
Obtains signatures from the patient/representative, issues documents, and explains all consent forms including but not limited to Conditions of Service, Acknowledgement of Receipt (Advanced Directives), Important Messages from Medicare.
Must have at least 1 year of Admitting/Emergency Department experience or equivalent experience.
Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications. In addition to base pay, there may be additional compensation available for Glendora Hospital roles, including but not limited to shift differential and other special pay practices, etc. The posted compensation for the position is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay that Glendora Hospital in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting.
