Summary:

Prepares all payroll functions such as direct deposit, tax payments, tax paperwork, garnishments, salary reductions, in an accurate and thorough manner.

Maintains all journal entries according to the cash accounting methods, following all federal, state and local laws along with compliance with the USCCB, Temporal Good Policies and Diocese of Toledo.

Provides accurate and detailed reports when requested.

Remains apprised on changes to accounting laws for both public sector and non-profit accounting.

Prepares month, quarter and year-end reconciliations as needed; verifies accuracy of financial/transactional data.

Acts as a contact person to collect and share updates on insurance, retirement, fiscal matters, etc.
Top Qualifications:

Associates degree in accounting is required, Bachelor's preferred. Previous non-profit bookkeeping experience preferable.

Requires a high level of computer expertise including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, and ability to learn custom church software.

Maintain high levels of confidentiality.

Must successfully pass the required BCI/FBI background check prior to employment and every five years.
