American Traveler is hiring a RN for a Progressive Care Unit position requiring at least 1 year of recent RN experience and an active OH or compact license.

Work in a Stepdown/PCU mixed-acuity unit within a hospital setting
-
Care for adult and geriatric patients with general chronic medical conditions
-
Day shift (3x12 Hours, 7:00-19:30) or Night shift (3x12 Hours, 19:00-7:30) available
-
13-week assignment length
-
Floating required within the OSU organization
-
Call required
-
Uses Epic documentation system
-
Uses Pyxis, Accudose, and Omnicell medication systems
-
Utilizes SBAR communication method
-
In-house provider support available 24/7
-
Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of submission

BLS and ACLS certifications required
-
Minimum 1 year of recent RN experience required
-
Progressive care/Stepdown/PCU experience preferred
-
Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
-
Skilled in cardiac monitoring and emergency response
-
Skilled in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
-
Experience with Rapid Response/Code teams
-
Knowledgeable in isolation precautions and PPE use
-
Experience with respiratory care including nasal cannula and oxygen administration
-
Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line care/management
-
2 professional references required, with at least 1 from a Manager/Director or formal leadership role and the second acceptable from a Charge RN
-
No coworker references accepted

Provide nursing care within a progressive care/stepdown environment for mixed-acuity adult and geriatric patients

First-time travelers are welcome to apply

Locals are accepted at the same rate

RTO must be submitted and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
-
Former employees are eligible for a travel assignment once they have been away from the facility for 6 months or more

Current employees of any Ohio State University hospital location are ineligible to be hired as a traveler

Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly after signing contract due to strict credentialing timelines
