The Automotive Shop Foreman is responsible for supervising the service department’s staff, ensuring that repairs and maintenance are performed efficiently and according to the highest industry standards. The foreman also acts as a liaison between technicians and service advisors, ensuring customer satisfaction and optimal workflow. Ideal candidate has a minimum of 15 years dealership experience, preferably working on Honda or Acura automobile products.
Responsibilities:
- Supervision of Technicians:
- Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of automotive technicians.
- Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting assistance.
- Ensure that all repairs are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback to technicians.
- Monitor work quality and ensure adherence to shop policies and safety standards.
- Ensure efficient use of shop space, equipment, and time.
- Inspect completed repairs for quality and adherence to manufacturer guidelines.
- Test-drive vehicles as necessary to ensure repairs were successful.
- Oversee diagnostic procedures and ensure the correct resolution of vehicle issues.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Provide technical expertise for resolving customer complaints and issues.
- Ensure customer vehicles are repaired correctly the first time, minimizing repeat repairs.
- Stay updated on the latest automotive technology and repair techniques.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and teamwork.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and environmental laws.
- Manage the maintenance of shop tools and equipment to ensure they are in good working order.
- Monitor and report shop productivity and performance to management.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as an automotive technician, with leadership or foreman experience.
- ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) certification is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of automotive systems and repairs (mechanical, electrical, diagnostic).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to lead, mentor, and communicate effectively with a team.
- Strong organizational skills to manage workflow and prioritize tasks.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $120,000.00 - $135,000.00 per year
