About the role
An opportunity has arisen within the Production Department for a Weld Rework Technician. The successful candidate will be based in Houston, TX and will report to the Production Manager. The Weld Rework Technician is responsible for performing repairs on industrial and marine gas turbine parts, which include welding, grinding, blasting, dressing, drilling and pressing, etc.

This an hourly non-exempt position.
An overview of your day
- Conduct minor and major welding repairs on a diverse range of engine parts.
- Execute precise welding techniques to ensure the structural integrity of components.
- Proficient in using micrometers for precise measurements in welding applications, ensuring accuracy and adherence to specifications.
- Utilize welding equipment proficiently for repair tasks.
- Operate pneumatic and electric grinding tools for smoothing and shaping metal surfaces.
- Employ metal cutting equipment for precision shaping of engine parts.
- Use blast equipment for abrasive cleaning and surface preparation.
- Operate a hydraulic press for tasks requiring substantial force.
- Employ an electric furnace for heat treatment processes.
- Utilize a drill press for precision drilling tasks.
- Operate grinding wheels and belt sanders for refining metal surfaces.
- Operate vacuum sealing equipment for creating airtight seals.
- Utilize chemical cleaning equipment for cleaning engine parts.
- Operate pressure testing equipment to ensure component integrity.
- Refurbish engine components daily.
- Follow instructions provided by engine overhaul manuals, engineering documents, and part prints.
- Ensure compliance with standards and specifications during the refurbishment process.
What we need from you
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
- Welding certification is a plus.
- 2- 3 years of mechanical experience is required.
- 2-3 years of welding experience is preferred.
- Understands mathematical operations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division involving decimals and fractions.
- Possesses working knowledge of hand tools and their functionality.
- Demonstrates use of welding equipment and precision measurement tools with precision and accuracy.
- Knowledge of cleaning equipment for effective engine part cleaning.
- Ability to interpret and follow instructions from engine overhaul manuals, engineering documents, and part prints.
- Attention to detail to ensure compliance with standards and specifications during the refurbishment process.

Flexible Work Schedule
All regular full-time employees are eligible to participate in our flexible work schedule, which consists of five (5) workdays of eight (8) hours in one week and four (4) days of ten (10) hours in the second week for a total of eighty (80) hours during two (2) consecutive work weeks. The schedule allows every second Friday to be taken provided the agreed hours of work are fulfilled. Employees can “opt-out” and work the regular work week.
