JOB TITLE: Shop Floor/ Service Manager
SUMMARY: Responsible for the day-to-day operations of a factory shop floor where goods are produced. Their main duties include overseeing productivity, efficiency and managing quality standards. Assist in managing and coordinates all production activities, operations, and staff to ensure conformance to established procedures; implements practices that maximize production efforts to improve the overall effectiveness and financial performance of the production function.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Training, motivating, and managing the production team.
· Oversee a wide range of skilled repetitive mechanical assembly operations in support of production projects.
· Assembles, modifies, reworks, and/or reassembles production components utilizing drawings, pick tickets, process documentation, and/or verbal instructions.
· Develops and communicates goals and key initiatives to improve plant performance and success.
· Interfaces with production manager to control operating cost.
· Maintains knowledge of machine capacity and develops solutions for efficient utilization.
· Provides day-to-day guidance and oversight of subordinates; actively works to promote and recognize performance.
· Keeps up to date on overall activities of the team, identifying problem areas and taking corrective actions.
· Participates in first time production runs of new products.
· Supports cycle count activity, inventory handling, and inventory transactions following established material procedures.
· Participates in continuous improvement and team building activities; maintains productive working relationships with all team members.
· Possesses and maintains thorough knowledge of all applicable safety regulations and considerations.
· Assists with creation of work instructions and bills of material as needed.
· Completes all required paperwork; prepares required reports and correspondence.
· Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
· Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· An Engineering Degree with certification from welding machine manufacturer
preferred.
· Minimum 3 to 5+ years of hands-on experience diagnosing and repairing
Industrial electrical/mechanical equipment, specifically welding power sources
and wire feeders with at least 2 years in a supervisory role
· Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
· Acute attention to detail
· Familiarity with various mechanical and electrical measuring equipment
· Commitment to excellence and high standards
· Ability to read and understand work instructions and assembly drawings
· Ability to work on complex projects with general direction and minimal guidance
· Ability to understand safety requirements and cautions
· Ability to manage priorities and workflow
· Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing
priorities with enthusiasm.
