American Traveler is hiring an LPN for a Medical-Surgical unit at an acute care Magnet-recognized teaching hospital in Rochester, NY, requiring an active NY LPN license and Epic experience.

Work in a complex care Medical-Surgical unit serving Medicine, orthopedic overflow, and complex long-term patients at a 528-bed acute care Magnet-recognized teaching hospital in Rochester, NY

Patient ratio of 1:5–6, with LPN taking own patient assignment supported by an RN
-
Clinical skills required include blood product administration, central line care/management, peripheral line care/management, phlebotomy, PICC line management, IV start and maintenance, high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC), nasal cannula, oxygen administration, trach care/management, feeding tube care/management, heparin protocols, pacemaker management, and telemetry monitoring

Additional experience with rapid response/code teams, isolation precautions, wound care/wound vac, MS/Tele, ortho trauma, total joint replacements, and surgical drains

Scheduled for 3x12-hour shifts on a day/night rotation (7:00–19:00 / 19:00–7:00) over a 13-week contract

Every other weekend required

Must be available to work every other holiday as needed

Charting is done in Epic

Floating within skillset to other units is required

Active New York single-state LPN license required at start of assignment (NY is not a Compact state); license required if applicable

Minimum 1 year of LPN experience required

Acute care experience within the last 2 years required

Current BLS certification required

Epic experience required
-
2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years

Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained

Availability for day/night rotation, every other weekend, and every other holiday

The hospital is affiliated with Cleveland Clinic and Roswell Park, and is certified as an Advanced Thrombectomy Capable Stroke Center

The facility offers specialized programs including the Sands-Constellation Heart Institute, Lipson Cancer Institute, Neuroscience Institute, and advanced surgical services
