We're hiring a Director of Business Development who can hunt, qualify, and close new business across our portfolio. This is not a single-product role — you'll be selling staffing, security, FVL, 3PL warehousing, value-add assembly, and OTR freight, often within the same account. The best sellers here are operators at heart — they understand the customer's operation, not just our service catalog.
This is a true hunter role with uncapped earning potential and a clear path to senior sales leadership inside a growing portfolio.
We are a unified family of operating companies delivering integrated workforce, warehousing, and transportation solutions to North America's leading manufacturers, distributors, and shippers. Our three operating businesses move as one team:
- Staffing, security services, finished vehicle logistics, and broader workforce solutions.
- 30+ years in contract logistics
- OTR freight (53 ft dry van and refrigerated), FTL/LTL, cross-border US/Canada, and cold storage near the Gordie Howe International Bridge.
We're recognized as one of Michigan's fastest-growing companies and we're scaling fast. We sell the connected operation — one relationship, three companies, end-to-end solutions.
What You'll Do
- Build pipeline and close new business across all three Axvor operating companies.
- Lead consultative discovery with operations, plant management, supply chain, HR, and procurement buyers.
- Identify and develop cross-sell opportunities — every account is a multi-service candidate.
- Partner with internal operations leaders to develop accurate, winning proposals.
- Own your accounts from prospecting through hand-off and growth.
- Manage your pipeline with discipline — accurate forecasting, stage hygiene, and consistent CRM updates.
- Hit and exceed quarterly revenue and gross profit targets.
You're a Fit If You Have
- 3+ years of B2B sales experience, ideally in staffing, 3PL/contract logistics, freight, industrial services, or a related field.
- A track record of hunting and closing new logos — not just farming existing accounts.
- Comfort selling into manufacturing, automotive, distribution, and industrial environments.
- Strong consultative discovery skills — you ask great questions before you quote.
- Process discipline — you actually run a sales stage and respect a quoting process.
- Resilience and a competitive edge — you don't fold on the first pushback.
- Ability to coordinate internally across multiple operating leaders to deliver one customer answer.
- Authorization to work in the U.S. and willingness to travel to customer sites (estimated 25–40%).
Nice to Have
- Existing relationships in automotive OEMs, Tier-1 suppliers, or large manufacturers.
- Experience selling bundled or multi-service solutions.
- Familiarity with engineered quoting processes (AQP, RFQ response, lane bidding).
- Cross-border US/Canada freight experience.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish or English/French) a plus.
Compensation & Benefits
- Guaranteed minimum during a 120-day ramp period, transitioning to draw against uncapped commission. No ceiling on commission earnings.
- Medical, dental, and vision coverage.
- 401(k) with company contribution.
- Paid time off and holidays.
- Vehicle/travel allowance.
- Career growth inside a fast-growing portfolio with an active M&A roadmap.
