The Y's Kids After School Educator is responsible for providing a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children in the Y's Kids after school program. This role involves supervising and guiding children ages 5-12 during the after school hours from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM, facilitating educational and recreational activities that promote social, emotional, and physical development.
- Supervise and ensure the safety of children during after school program hours.
- Providing nutritional snacks.
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities including homework help, arts and crafts, games, and physical activities.
- Encourage positive social interactions and foster a supportive group environment.
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, and Y staff regarding program activities and child progress.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming environment.
- Follow all Y policies and procedures, including health and safety guidelines.
- Assist with attendance tracking and reporting as needed.
- High School Students / High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience working with children in a group setting preferred.
- 16 years and older.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to engage children in a positive and energetic manner.
- CPR and First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain upon hire.
- Ability to pass background checks and comply with all Y safety standards.
Monday through Friday, 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
