Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one and small group assistance to students as directed by educational staff
- Support academic, behavioral, and social development within the classroom
- Assist with daily student routines, transitions, and classroom participation
- Follow and implement behavior support plans and IEPs as applicable
- Help ensure students’ mobility, supervision, and, if necessary, address personal care needs
- Maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive classroom atmosphere
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Updated TB test in accordance with school requirements
- Physical ability to stand, walk, and assist with lifting as needed
- Willingness to obtain all necessary clearances before starting
Preferred Experience:
- Direct experience in school, special education, behavioral health, or child care settings
- Experience working with special needs students, including those with autism or behavioral challenges
- Training or certification such as CPI, PMT, or RBT is an asset, but not required
- Reliability, patience, and a collaborative attitude
