La Jolla Grooming Company is seeking a dependable and experienced Groomer/Bather to join our team. This is a fast-paced, high-standard grooming environment, and we’re looking for someone who can step in, work efficiently, and consistently produce high-quality results.
The ideal candidate is confident handling dogs of all sizes, works with a strong sense of urgency, and maintains a clean, organized workspace. Most importantly, they take pride in their work and are committed to producing consistent, high-quality results that meet our grooming standards.
We’re looking for someone who takes their work seriously, communicates clearly, and works well as part of a team.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Bathe, dry, and prep dogs thoroughly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Perform proper prep work including de-shedding, de-matting (when appropriate), nail trims, gland expression and ear cleaning
- Confidently and safely handle dogs of all sizes, breeds, and temperaments
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work environment at all times
- Work closely with groomers and team members to keep the daily schedule running smoothly
- Monitor dogs throughout their visit to ensure their safety, comfort, and well-being
- Assist with general shop upkeep including cleaning tubs, kennels, tools, and grooming areas
- Maintain strong time management skills, knowing when to work with urgency and when to slow down to ensure each dog’s comfort and safety
Ability to work with a sense of urgency while maintaining quality and safety is essential.
Experience
- Previous dog bathing experience in a professional grooming environment is strongly preferred
- Grooming school or formal training is a plus
- Experience handling dogs of all sizes and temperaments required

Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
