Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Grounds Laborer/Equipment Operator to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing outdoor landscapes, operating various types of equipment, and supporting a wide range of groundskeeping activities. Responsibilities
- Safely operates a variety of maintenance equipment, including mowers, pluggers, trimmers, and other machinery, to perform routine and specialized course maintenance tasks.
- Cleans all machinery thoroughly after each use, ensuring proper maintenance, longevity, and readiness for the next operation.
- Conducts routine inspections of all equipment after use, checking for wear, damage, or operational issues to maintain safe and efficient operation.
- Reports any machinery or equipment malfunctions, damage, or safety concerns promptly to the supervisor to ensure timely repairs and minimal disruption to operations.
- Performs minor adjustments and basic maintenance on equipment as needed to maintain optimal performance and safety standards.
- Loads, unloads, and transports materials, supplies, and equipment safely and efficiently to support daily maintenance and project needs.
- Trims trees, shrubs, and hedges, and removes cuttings and debris to maintain a neat, safe, and visually appealing landscape.
- Collects and empties litter cans throughout the property, maintaining clean and welcoming grounds for guests and staff.
- Cleans and maintains gutters, drains, and culverts to ensure proper water flow and prevent blockages or flooding.
- Waters plants, flowers, and landscaped areas as required, ensuring healthy growth and maintaining aesthetic appeal.
- Cuts and maintains grass, weeds, and bushes, using proper techniques and equipment to ensure consistent and professional turf and landscape appearance.
- Rakes leaves and removes debris from landscaped areas to maintain cleanliness, safety, and overall visual appeal.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to operate construction equipment like excavators and power tools safely.
- Experience in lawn care, landscape maintenance, gardening, and horticulture practices.
- Ability to use hand tools effectively for gardening or minor repairs.
- Basic understanding of tree care practices such as trimming or pruning for health and safety reasons.
- Excellent physical stamina with the capability to perform manual labor outdoors in various weather conditions
- Strong attention to detail combined with a proactive attitude toward site maintenance and safety protocols.
