Duties
- Travel to patient locations to perform blood sampling and specimen collection efficiently and professionally
- Obtain accurate patient information and vital signs prior to specimen collection
- Use aseptic techniques and adhere to strict safety protocols during venipuncture and blood sampling procedures
- Handle, label, and process specimens according to laboratory standards to ensure integrity and accuracy
- Maintain detailed documentation within Electronic Medical Records (EMR) or Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems, including data entry of patient information and specimen details
- Provide compassionate patient care by explaining procedures clearly, addressing concerns, and ensuring comfort during collection
- Follow laboratory procedures, techniques, and safety guidelines diligently to uphold quality standards in medical laboratory work
Qualifications
- Proven experience in laboratory procedures, venipuncture, phlebotomy, or clinical laboratory work
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and laboratory techniques necessary for specimen collection
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) is required
- Prior hospital or healthcare facility experience preferred; familiarity with EMR/EHR systems is a plus
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely when handling supplies or specimens; physical stamina for standing, walking, and performing repetitive tasks
- Strong customer service skills with a focus on patient care across diverse populations including geriatrics and pediatrics
- Excellent attention to detail for accurate data entry, specimen handling, and documentation of vital signs
- Knowledge of aseptic techniques and blood sampling protocols to prevent contamination or errors
