The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing complex laboratory testing, ensuring accurate blood bank procedures, and maintaining the highest standards of patient safety and quality assurance in a hospital clinical laboratory.

- Contract Duration: 7 Weeks
- Shift: Nights, 3×12-hour shifts (6:30 PM – 7:00 AM)
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of recent Medical Technologist experience
- Travel experience is required (first-time travelers will not be considered)
- Experience working in a hospital clinical laboratory
- Strong Blood Bank experience required
- Current certification in one of the following:
- ASCP
- ASCP MT
- ASCP-BB
- AMT
- ABB
- Experience with laboratory information systems and electronic charting
- Must be proficient in:
- ABO/Rh testing, antibody screening and identification
- Crossmatching (Immediate Spin, AHG/IgG, Electronic)
- Antigen typing
- Blood product preparation and transfusion reaction workups
- Specimen processing and handling
- Hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, chemistry, and immunology testing
- Medical Laboratory Technicians (MLTs) are not eligible for this position.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine and complex laboratory testing with a focus on Blood Bank services.
- Conduct blood typing, compatibility testing, antibody identification, and crossmatching.
- Prepare, store, and issue blood products while following established safety protocols.
- Analyze and verify test results with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ensure proper specimen collection, labeling, processing, and storage.
- Perform quality control procedures and maintain compliance with laboratory standards.
- Troubleshoot laboratory instruments and resolve technical issues as needed.
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams to support timely patient care.
- Maintain accurate documentation and comply with all regulatory and safety guidelines.
- Float to other laboratory areas within scope of practice when required.
Pay: $1,300.00 - $1,600.00 per week
