About the Role
Baker Law Group is seeking an experienced Civil Litigation Paralegal to join our growing Texas legal team in Austin.
This is a full-time, hybrid position for a paralegal with approximately 2–5 years of civil litigation experience who is ready to take meaningful ownership of case organization, deadlines, discovery, filings, and trial preparation. The successful candidate will work closely with attorneys handling a varied civil litigation caseload and will play an important role in helping matters move efficiently from initial filing through resolution.
We are looking for someone who is organized, responsive, comfortable working independently, and capable of anticipating what attorneys and clients will need next. This is a strong opportunity for a litigation paralegal who wants substantive involvement in cases, direct collaboration with attorneys, and the flexibility of a hybrid work environment.
What You’ll Do
Responsibilities may include:

Support attorneys handling a broad range of Texas civil litigation matters
- Organize and maintain electronic case files from opening through resolution
- Prepare, format, proofread, and file pleadings, motions, notices, discovery, and other legal documents
- Manage e-filing in Texas state and federal courts
- Calendar hearings, depositions, discovery deadlines, trial dates, and other case milestones
- Monitor court notices, scheduling orders, and case developments
- Assist with drafting correspondence, discovery requests and responses, subpoenas, chronologies, and case summaries
- Coordinate written discovery, document production, and collection of client records
- Review and organize contracts, financial records, communications, photographs, and other evidence
- Prepare deposition summaries and organize deposition exhibits
- Assist with hearing, mediation, arbitration, and trial preparation
- Create exhibit lists, witness files, trial notebooks, and electronic hearing materials
- Coordinate with clients, courts, opposing counsel, experts, vendors, witnesses, and other outside parties
- Communicate with clients regarding documents, deadlines, scheduling, and case-related needs
- Help attorneys identify missing information, upcoming deadlines, and matters requiring attention
- Assist with factual investigation and background research
- Enter time accurately and promptly in accordance with firm billing procedures
- Work collaboratively with attorneys, paralegals, legal assistants, and firm leadership
- Provide in-office support for hearings, depositions, mediations, and trial preparation when needed
What We’re Looking For
Strong candidates will have:

Approximately 2–5 years of civil litigation paralegal experience
- Experience working with Texas courts and filing procedures
- Knowledge of Texas civil litigation processes and deadlines
- Experience preparing pleadings, discovery, subpoenas, exhibits, and other litigation documents
- Strong calendaring and deadline-management skills
- Experience assisting with depositions, hearings, mediations, and trial preparation
- Excellent drafting, proofreading, editing, and document-formatting abilities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to manage several active matters and competing priorities
- Strong attention to detail and follow-through
- The ability to identify problems and escalate them before they affect a case
- Comfort communicating directly with clients and outside parties
- The ability to work independently without losing connection with the team
- A professional, collaborative, and low-ego working style
- Comfort using modern legal technology and cloud-based systems
Preferred Qualifications
Preference may be given to candidates with:

A paralegal certificate or relevant degree
- Experience with both Texas state and federal courts
- Experience supporting attorneys through trial
- Familiarity with commercial, real estate, construction, or business litigation
- Experience reviewing large document productions
- Experience preparing deposition and trial summaries
- Familiarity with legal practice-management, document-management, e-filing, and timekeeping systems
- Experience supporting multiple attorneys simultaneously
Work Arrangement
This position is based in Austin, Texas and follows a hybrid schedule, with a combination of in-office work and remote flexibility.
Regular office attendance will be required for collaboration, case preparation, document organization, meetings, and other in-person needs. The successful candidate must also remain responsive, organized, and fully engaged while working remotely.
