The driver will be responsible for safely and efficiently empty customers’ waste containers on site or to deliver, switch out and remove boxes with the truck and take to the designated disposal facility. This job requires a minimum of a CDL class A license and the ability to drive a manual transmission.
Duties
- Operate Commercial Front load and/or Roll Off Truck and ancillary equipment to collect waste.
- Ability to drive a standard transmission truck
- Communicate vehicle mechanical problems to mechanic and supervisor immediately.
- Maintain the consistent route as determined by management.
- Communicate any potential hazards in delivering/picking up container to the supervisor.
- Report all accidents or incidents to supervisor(s) immediately.
- Exhibit a professional demeanor, manner and appearance at all times (i.e., meeting customers and/or the general public while on route or in uniform.)
- Ensure that all required personal protective equipment be worn at all times (i.e., gloves, reflective vest, safety glasses, work boots, etc.)
- Attend safety and branch meetings.
- May be required to work overtime· Operate Commercial Front load and/or Roll Off Truck and ancillary equipment to collect waste.
Skills
- Ability to operate all vehicles assigned.
- Maneuver trucks into loading and unloading positions, checking that vehicle position is correct and any special loading equipment is properly positioned.
- Load material as instructed. Responsible for general maintenance of truck, including but not limited to: checking oil and fuel levels.
- Complete all “pre-trip” requirements before each truck run and “post-trip” requirement at the end of each shift.
- Ability to make minor repairs to vehicle, such as tire or hose repairs.
- Ability to push 145 pounds.
- Ability to pull 145 pounds.

Pay: $25.00 - $27.00 per hour
