Let's Eat Restaurant Group is looking for a Chef to join our team.
The Chef will assist in managing the primary restaurant, kitchen operations, food budgeting, inventory and buying, and facilitating staff services. Job duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:
Assist in directing staffing, scheduling, training and performance evaluations to develop and control kitchen operations in conjunction with the Culinary Director, and General Manager.
The position will assist in the directing and coordinating activities concerned with research and development of the concept’s menu item implementation, ideas, specifications, and applications for the organization’s new products or specials
The position will assist in menu development, including quality control, expediting, product and plate presentation design, new menu items, specials development and improvements on existing menu items
Ensure that all food and products are consistently prepared and served according to the recipes with proper cooking, portions, and service
Oversee monthly food purchases, broken down by department
Comprehensive cleaning and maintenance schedule for kitchen
Will create daily prep list and coordinate with kitchen staff
Ensure that all equipment is kept clean and in excellent working condition
Assist in supply ordering and cost tracking
Check in delivered product and invoices for accuracy
Assist in execution of special event and holiday menus
Assist in outside events and catering as needed
Daily Shift Note entry
Make or assist in decisions on hiring, discipline, and termination
Check and maintain proper health department regulations on a daily basis
Responsible for inventory controls and assist with end-of-month inventory process
Required Skills/Qualifications
3+ years experience in a related position
Food Serve Safe certification
Strong knowledge of sauté, sanitation regulations
Strong ability to communicate effectively both written and verbal
Proven track record of good work history and stability
Excellent cooking skills
Experienced in training subordinates in large quantity food preparation and excellent knowledge of quality food operations
Has the ability to taste all foods to assure correct preparation
Flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
Physical Requirements
Must be able to seize, grasp, turn and hold objects with hands
Must be able to work on your feet for at least 10 hours
Fast paced movements are required to go from one part of the store to others.
Must be able to move, pull, carry or lift of up to 50 pounds on occasion and 35 pounds regularly
Occasional environmental exposures to cold, heat, and water
Occasionally kneel, bend, crouch and climb as required.
Pay: From $75,000.00 per year
