Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Box Truck Driver to join our dynamic logistics team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating box trucks to deliver freight and goods to various locations, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries. Your expertise in truck driving combined with your attention to safety and customer service will help us maintain our reputation for excellence. This position offers an exciting opportunity to be an essential part of our transportation operations, supporting efficient supply chain management and customer satisfaction. Must be able to stay out 3 weeks and home 1 full week.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate box trucks, including manual transmission vehicles, to transport freight, goods, and equipment across designated routes.
- Load and unload cargo efficiently using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or roll-off trucks, ensuring proper handling of freight types including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and dump trucks.
- Follow all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies during route driving to ensure safe delivery practices.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to identify maintenance needs or safety issues before and after each shift.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, route documentation, and delivery receipts for all shipments.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to confirm delivery schedules and resolve any issues promptly.
- Assist with securing freight on trucks to prevent damage during transit and ensure compliance with weight limits and load safety standards.
Skills
- Proven experience in truck driving, especially with commercial driving licenses (CDL) preferred but not required for some roles.
- Familiarity with operating manual transmission vehicles confidently.
- Ability to handle various types of freight including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks.
- Experience in load & unload operations using forklifts or other lifting equipment.
- Strong knowledge of route driving best practices, traffic laws, and safety protocols.
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with dispatchers and customers.
- Ability to perform routine vehicle inspections and basic maintenance checks effectively.
