Position Summary
Valley Steel Stamp is seeking a CNC Machining & Grinding Operator to join our second-shift manufacturing team. This position is responsible for operating computer-controlled machining and grinding equipment to manufacture precision firearm components to exact engineering specifications. Operators play a critical role in producing safe, reliable, and high-quality products by maintaining tight dimensional tolerances, monitoring machine performance, and ensuring every component meets customer and company quality standards.
Working in a fast-paced precision manufacturing environment, this role requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
Set up, operate, and monitor CNC mills and grinding equipment to manufacture precision parts.
Load raw materials and unload finished components while maintaining production efficiency.
Measure and inspect parts using precision measuring equipment, including micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, gauges, and other inspection tools.
Monitor machine performance and make approved tool wear and offset adjustments to maintain dimensional accuracy.
Replace tooling as required.
Complete production records, inspection documentation, and other required paperwork accurately.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while following all company safety policies and PPE requirements.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to work the assigned second-shift schedule (Monday–Thursday, 3:00 PM–1:00 AM).
Ability to work on-site in Greenfield, MA.
Basic math skills and the ability to understand measurements and tolerances.
Ability to read and follow work instructions and production documentation.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Good communication skills and a commitment to workplace safety.
Preferred
Previous experience operating CNC machining and/or grinding equipment.
Experience using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and indicators.
Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
